Connecting with Personal Style as a North Star

for Beautiful, Eco-Friendly Fashion & Home

Join me for a special two-week workshop on sustainable style. One key step to slow living is personal expression--knowing what you love and how you use it--and letting that guide your choices for materials, designers, colors, and more. Decorating a home is very similar to fashion style--when you prioritize what you love, and use, you increase satisfaction and longevity. We'll combine this knowledge with a sustainable framework for a beautiful, well-loved, earth-friendly home and wardrobe. After 10+ years of practice, I cannot wait to share my solutions with you!

Structured Creativity

This course provides a structured approach to hone your personal style and identify how to move more deeply towards sustainable designs.

Micro Sessions

Focused lessons are delivered each weekday morning to fit into your busy schedule and keep your sustainable expression moving forward.

Private Community

Gain access to a private class community to share style progress, get feedback, and gain insights from other eco-minded participants. Plus, it's fun!

One step at a time.

Sustainable style is not about one singular color palette, design, or shape of clothing and furniture. It's about what is the most sustainable for you! It's about your daily needs, priorities, and the value-based actions to keep aligning fashion and home with sustainability.

In this class, you’ll focus on refining your personal style in fashion and home as a guide for making sustainable choices. You'll get clear on what you love and why. You’ll demystify the creative process of personal style and home decorating then learn my formula for choosing materials, makers, designers, and DIY projects that prioritize our beautiful planet. Yes, style can be beautiful, joyful, useful, personal, and sustainable too.

Slow Fashion

I've been building a sustainable wardrobe since 2013 and I've never felt more excited about my clothes! I'll lead you through style prompts, clothing combinations, and a shopping guide for how to make, thrift, or buy the clothes you want, need, and love to wear! No challenge too big or small--whether you want to clean out your closet, add some key fashion pieces, or just slowly build a thoughtful collection--we can tackle your challenges together in class. Be willing to have some fun!

Slow Decorating

We bought our 1820s farmhouse in 2015 and have been slowly renovating since. We've tackled big projects like designing a new kitchen and smaller projects like adding garden beds. I'll led you through decorating prompts, considering usage and furniture layout, and a shopping guide for how to make, thrift, or buy the home goods you want, need, and love to live with! Whether you're renovating your bathroom or decorating your home office--we can create earth-centric solutions. Together.

Let's Turn Your Inspired, Imperfect, Sustainable Style Ideas into Reality

Sustainable by Design will provide you with the structure and tools to move your fashion styling and/or home decorating projects forward. In the life you have right now. With earth-centric aesthetics in any color, material, size, or budget. Let's style and decorate things! Together.

This Class is for You If:

  • You consider yourself a creative person but want to better express your personal style.
  • You have a home project in mind and want some sustainable-savvy support. Or you want to upgrade your wardrobe with earth-friendly solutions. But how?
  • You don’t understand how people can navigate all the imperfect choices and still claim to be sustainable--it's so overwhelming.
  • You know what you like. But when you get dressed, or enter a room in your home, something still feels off. You want to feel both stylish and sustainable.
  • You want to take a creative risk in your fashion styling or in your home but you need some support. (Because you are not a robot but a human. This class is for humans only.)
  • You’d like to feel inspired by your clothes, home, garden, and studio. But it just feels too cluttered or too risky. Or you just don't know where to start. We'll pick a place for you to start together. Just be willing to try on some new clothing combinations, look hard at what you love, and tell your partner that you actually hate that zebra print on the dining room chairs. Sorry, not sorry.

This Class is Not for You If:

  • You think you need an art degree to be taken seriously as an artist.
  • You think you need a design degree to be taken seriously as a stylish human.
  • You do not consider yourself a creative person.
  • You aren’t willing to make mistakes or take risks.
  • You want me to tell you exactly how to create a successful and sustainable wardrobe and home regardless of who you are as a  person (I already think you’re a successful person and I might not even know you! Plus, this isn’t a class about precision or replication, it’s about style-searching, brainstorming, and putting your sustainable values alongside your aesthetic. In the life you live today.)
  • You don’t like chocolate. I've said this before but, I’m sorry I just don’t think it’s going to work out.
  • You cannot take yourself lightly, sometimes, and simultaneously see your incredible contributions to this broken world and how your creativity makes it more tolerable, meaningful, and exquisitely artful.

How does it work?

Focused lessons are delivered online each weekday morning around 9am EST for 10 days--these can be read anytime to accommodate various schedules. You'll get an email with a link to visit the new lesson or you can login to the Kajabi classroom to see all the available lessons. You can leave comments on any lesson and get personal feedback and/or connect with the class in a private setting. (My classes tend to be quite lively with lots of student interaction, but that always depends on the group dynamic. There's no such thing as too many comments!)

There will be two live, interactive video sessions--one each week--and these will be available as recordings too. We'll take a survey to set the live session schedule. The first week we'll focus on fashion, the second week on home but some lessons will apply to both. Class is interactive for two weeks but you have access to all the course materials for four months. This class is a style and design class--no materials needed, all levels welcome, and no fashion or home project is too big or small. I cannot wait to work with you! I have so much to share.
