ON THE MEND: A Visible Mending Course
January 27- February 28, 2025
An interactive, dynamic, five-week, online mending course to stitch, patch, darn, and deepen your textile redesign practice with a creative community. Class is interactive for five weeks but you'll have access for four months.
I only offer this in-depth mending course once each year. It's a comprehensive class on hand-stitching repairs on various textiles with in-depth student support.
*REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN.*
1. Weekly video lessons.
Professionally-filmed and edited class videos and full tutorials with high-quality visuals and sound.
2. Detailed tutorials & much more.
Full mending and darning videos on various textiles (like denim jeans and wool sweaters); insights on favorite tools and materials; numerous design tips; samples of finished work on various textiles; resources and more.
3. Written lessons.
In addition to the videos each week you'll receive an original written lesson with photographs; a lesson that's a creative prompt to challenge you to go deeper with that week's theme; and a feature on another mender/ textile artist.
4. Interactive private community.
A private community classroom will provide multiple opportunities to share your work with other participants, post work-in-progress, and glean insights from the class community. You'll probably make a mending friend, or ten.
5. Weekly live studio sessions.
Weekly, live, 45-minute FAQ office hours/ open studio sessions with me, Katrina Rodabaugh, to answer questions and offer additional insights. All live sessions will also be recorded to view afterwards. (These sessions are not necessary for full class participation, just a bonus.)
6. Access for four months.
This course is designed to participate weekly for five weeks from Jan 27- Feb 28, 2025. In addition, you'll have access to the recorded content for four months until May 27, 2025 to review videos, writings, photos, FAQ studio sessions, etc.
