About Me

I’m a fiber artist and writer exploring environmental issues through craft techniques. Mostly, I mend things. My work has appeared in publications like the New York Times, Boston Globe, Martha Stewart Living, Mother Earth Living, Selvedge Magazine, Taproot Magazine, and more. Since 2013 I've been on a sustainable fashion journey and written three books including Mending Matters and Make Thrift Mend. I currently live with my husband, two sons, and many dye plants in an old farmhouse in the Hudson Valley of New York.
